This year, the PTA is asking for each class to donate a basket to our silent auction being held during the Halloween Carnival.  Each class has chosen a theme, and are being asked to fill the baskets with things that coordinate with their theme.  The PTA would like to have the baskets gathered before Fall Break, so if you are able to donate anything to your child's class, please have it to your child's teacher no later than Wednesday, October 19th.  THANK YOU!

We will be holding Box Top Wars starting this week!  Please gather as many box tops as you can and send them to school with your child.  The class with the most box tops gathered will receive a popcorn party.  The contest will run from 10/17-10/26.  Send those box tops in!!!

Make sure to mark your calendar!  Goshen's Halloween Carnival is going to be held on Friday, October 28th from 6:00-9:00.  We are going to have lots of fun, food and games!  Food and game tickets will be available to buy from October 17-October 26 before school from 8:30-9:00.  Game wristbands will be $5.00 and dinner (sloppy joe, chips and a drink) will be $3.00 if you pay in advance, or $4.00 the night of the carnival.

This week's teacher spotlight is Mrs. Larson.  Mrs. Larson teaches 3rd grade here at Goshen Elementary.  This is her second year at our school, and her second year teaching.  Before she started teaching here, she was a substitute teacher.  She loves sharing stories with her students, and also loves camping, swimming, reading and spending time with her family.  She likes Mexican food, ice cream, and root beer.  Her favorite color is blue, she loves basketball and her favorite book is The City of Ember.  A couple of interesting facts about Mrs.

Mrs. Barber's 3rd grade class won the spirit contest this month, and gets to have the Falcon stay in their class for the rest of the month.  Congratulations, and thanks for showing your school spirit!!!
