Students and Parents from Goshen School had a great morning on Saturday when they participated in our First Annual Goshen Kids' Marathon. The weather cooperated while the group ran the last 1.2 miles of their marathon! Once the race was over, and the kids had received their medals, breakfast was served. It was a great time, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
What a great week! The PTA topped Teacher Apprecitation Week with a Soda Bar for the staff. It was so nice to drop into the faculty room and get a soda throughout the day when you needed one!
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the PTA, volunteers, parents and students that made the teachers at our school feel like a million bucks last week! Thank you for the Magical week!!
A couple of weeks ago, our 6th graders held a vote, and elected their 7th Grade Representatives for next year. The canditates were required to write a speech about why they would make a good representative for the 7th graders coming to Mt. Nebo Jr. High from Goshen. After they candiates gave their speeches, all students in the 6th grade voted on the two peers that they thought would represent them the best next year. Congratulations to Jada Hacking and Emberlee Thomas for winning the election! They were ablet to meet with the Student Body President and Secretary, along with their Adivsor yesterday. Good Luck girls! You'll represent Goshen well!
These new books, as well as the PILES of others I took out of the fairs themselves when they were here, are in our library because of the rewards we earned at our book fair this year. We earn ALL of our money at the first winter fair, and it did really well this year. Anything that is bought at the first book fair every year, earns the school money for new library books! Thanks to all of the students and parents that buy books from our book fairs! Not only are you getting great reading material for your homes, but you are also contributing to new reading material for our school!
The Second grade had a great experience on a Walking Field Trip. The students left the school on Thursday, May 10 with their science notebooks in tow. Students made observations of spring and uses of water while walking from the School to the Goshen Rodeo Grounds. At the rodeo grounds they had stick horse races. They then went up to the Goshen Baseball Field where they played a game of kickball. After a competitive game, students Walked to the Goshen Church Pavilion where they enjoyed lunch and games on the grass. What a great day!
