4th Graders Learn About First Responders

Submitted by krista.openshaw on

4th Grade students at Goshen are learning about first responders in the Rad Kids program. It is so important that students know what firefighters in full fire gear looks like. Kids will sometimes hide from firefighters because the gear they wear as protection can look scary. Hopefully, this lowers levels of concern and helps prevent tragedy if there ever is a fire in one of our student's lives. Special thanks to Mr. Despain for bringing in the gear and to Bryton for modeling for the class.

5th Grade Class Celebrates Dia de los Muertos

Mrs. Openshaw's class learned about Dia de los Muertos during the month of October, and then on November 1st & 2nd, celebrated the holiday by putting together an ofrenda. Students brought pictures of loved ones to be displayed on their class ofrenda, and enjoyed telling their classmates about the person in their picture. They also had the opportunity to eat Pan de Muertos, a sweet eaten and displayed on ofrendas during the holiday. It was a great opportunity for students to learn about another culture, and the way they celebrate their loved ones.

Halloween at Goshen School

Halloween is always a fun time at Goshen School! The kids and staff all came in such fun costumes, and participated in our annual Halloween Parade. In the afternoon, PTA members and parents came and helped with fun parties in the classes. The teachers would like to thank those parents who are always so willing to help in the classroom so our kids can have fun activities!
