Goshen School Welcomes the STEM Action Center

The kids (and teachers) at Goshen School were able to attend a fun and exciting magic show put on by the STEM Action Center, where our magician taught us all about what STEM is (STEM is an acronym that stands for Science Technology Engineering and Math) and demonstrated it through some really interesting (and funny) magic tricks, including disappearing rabbits, shrinking heads,  traveling PB & J, tables made from kids and magic numbers. Some of our students were able to be his assistant throughout the magic show, and afterwards, the kids couldn't stop talking about it.

Goshen Students Celebrate Chinese New Year

This year Mrs. Barber, Ms. Bennett and their 3rd graders, along with Mrs. Openshaw's 5th graders celebrated Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year. This year we are celebrating the Year of the Rabbit. We celebrated by learning about many of the traditions, saying a few phrases in Cantonese, and by enjoying (or not-so-enjoying) a few Asian treats. We ended the celebration with every student receiving a red pocket and gifts from their teachers. Happy Lunar New Year!

Ms. Adams Receives the Crystal Apple Award

Ms. Adams is the 2022-2023 recipient of the Crystal Apple Award for Goshen School. The Crystal Apple Award is given every year to a teacher that shows dedication and commitment to their students and the community, and is voted on by fellow teachers in our school. Ms. Adams made the big leap to Kindergarten this year and has done a FANTASTIC job! Kindergarten is not always the grade that teachers flock to, but she jumped at the chance this year to fill a vacancy and has shown her patience, her knowledge and her skills when working with the youngest of our students.

Basketball With Mr. Atkin

What do we do in Goshen when it's rainy outside and school hasn't started yet? We challenge Mr. Atkin to a game of basketball, of course! The kids don't mind being inside if it means taking on the principal, and he is such a great sport! We are so lucky to have Mr. Atkin leading our school!
