Goshen Kindergarteners Celebrate Passport Day

Submitted by krista.openshaw on

The kindergarten classes had a great day learning about our National and State symbols as they “traveled” across the country to visit important historical structures and learn about some past influential people.  As they “visited” each place, they received a sticker for their Passport.  They even got to eat hotdogs (because “What’s more American than hotdogs?”)

In second grade we read the story "Gloria Who Might Be My Best Friend."  In the story Gloria and Julian build kites with wishes attached to the tail of the kite.  Mrs. Larson's students had a great time making and flying their own kites with wishes included!

Second Graders Build a City

Submitted by krista.openshaw on

For the past couple of weeks the 2nd graders have been learning about producers and consumers in Social Studies.  They had the opportunity to make their own city and build a paper bag building that sold a good or service.  We had police stations, banks, army bases, 5 below, Costco, Pizza Hut and much more in our city of "Rocky Valley."

Mr. Atkin is Showered With Kindness

Submitted by krista.openshaw on

Next week we will be kicking off kindness week, and Mrs. Despain and Mrs. Brockback left me a nice, little, but kind surprise in my office. I had meetings in Payson and when I returned I found my office decorated with lovely flowers and cute little stuffed animals. They also organized my closet and cleaned my room. Even though my office now looks like it belongs to a teenage girl it is very clean and organized.  I DO love the little jokes and fun things that make Goshen School a home and a family. I have the best school in the district. Thanks Mrs. Despain and Mrs.
