Mrs. Openshaw's 6th Grade participated in a service project on Monday.  Over the past couple of weeks, with the help from students and parents, the class gathered items to be donated to The Ronald McDonald House in Salt Lake City.  The Ronald McDonald House is a place for families of patients at Primary Children's Hospital and the University of Utah Hospitals to stay while their loved ones are being treated.  Many times, in an emergency, family members don't have time to gather supplies for their stay, so they are given a care package with daily necesseties that they can use.

The class gathered items ranging from Shampoo and soap, to activities to keep both children and adults occupied when they aren't at the hospital with their loved ones.  The class broke into groups and were responsible for putting a care package together for a family.  The class was able to put enough care packages together to help 6 families, with the remaining odds and ends being gathered together to donate also.  The care packages will be delivered to The Ronald McDonald House this weekend.
