Goshen Elementary: We Fill Buckets Daily

Submitted by l.degraffenried on Fri, 08/29/2014 - 14:39

Goshen students are bucket fillers. At our opening assembly they learned about bucket filling and how important it is. Bucket filling is being kind to others, helpful, caring, etc. Each week students will learn skills to help them be bucket fillers.  They will be encouraged to practice the skills throughout the week.

Goshen students were introduced to our theme for the year by Rip and his friend, Wilson.  (A special thanks to Mr. Jensen, our school counselor, for sharing his talents with us.)

Goshen Back to School Night

Submitted by l.degraffenried on Fri, 08/29/2014 - 13:44

Our Back to School Night was a great success!  We met in the gym for our opening.  The PTA approved their yearly budget and then shared the plans for their upcoming Fun Run/Pancake Breakfast/Mini Carnival Fund Raiser (October 11)!

Cheri Tromble took a few minutes to let parents know that our AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM will be starting Sept 8, 2014. (Information was sent home with your students – please check backpacks.)

Mrs. DeGraffenried introduced our new theme, “Goshen Elementary: We Fill Buckets Daily” to the parents.  The teachers were introduced and excused.  Parents and students then attended one of three rotations with their teachers.

Afterwards they enjoyed hot dogs, drinks and great company on the back lawn.

A special thanks to Mr. Oberg, Mr. DeGraffenried, Mr. and Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Bermudez for their help outside!

Thank you for supporting us last night!

School Community Council Elections

Goshen Elementary School Community Council (SCC) serves as an advisory council to the school administration. State law establishes the following guidelines:

  • The SCC will consist of parents, employees and the principal.
  • The SCC will be elected by vote.  Parents will elect parents and staff members will elect staff members.
  • The SCC will meet monthly.  The council meets for one hour each month, usually after school.
