Goshen's Citizens of the Month for November are Kash Strasburg, Skylar Black, Easton Thomas, Shane Pyne, Andrew Ewell, Keelee Bingham, Seiji Valerio, Dillon Ewell, Hope Williams, Elmina Clinger, Colton Shelly, Darian Piper, Audrey Sexton, Samuel Hanning, Selena Nieto, Edward Deeb, and Myra Ogden. The theme for this month was fairness. These students have been found being fair in class and outside at recess.
This is the second time this year that the students in Mr. Jason Dickie's second grade class has been honored for winning the school spirit contest, Each class counts the number of students who wears a school shirt, or a shirt primarily blue or yellow, the school colors. There is a lot of school spirit in Mr. Dickie's class.
Goshen Elementary School celebrated the winners of the Eureka Elks' Lodge's "Why I am Proud to Pledge Allegiance" essay contest. Pictured on the back row are all of the sixth grade students from Mr.Nate Holt's class that participated with their participation certificates. With the end of the first term at Goshen Elementary students earned some prizes including books, backpacks, and a bike from the Roads to Success program. The program awards students for reading at home. Each week students earn tickets to be put into a drawing at the end of each term. The first bike of the year was given to Bridger Eastwood in Mrs. Norton's fourth grade class. Keep up the reading students!
Everyone takes a good nutritious school lunch, served daily, for granted. It's always just there, it seems. Not so much last Wednesday during the massive power outage in the south part of the county. Nebo School District's back-up plan was to just serve a snack of cold food on hand in the school's kitchen, if the power remained off, as was expected. When the power came back on at 11:00, it was time to get lunch ready at Goshen Elementary School. Goshen was back on "Plan A," which is to get a hot, well-balanced meal to the students for lunch.
